After ensuring all computer system hardware and software requirements and HEC-RAS are installed, follow the steps below to begin setting up cHECk-RAS:
- Open up the cHECk-RAS zip file from the cHECk-RAS, Version 2.0.1 FEMA Library
- Once the download pop-up appears, select the "installer" folder
- Double click cHECk-RAS Setup.exe file and follow the directions on the screen to install the program
- On the pop-up window, select "Run"
- From the cHECk-RAS pop-up window, select the "Next" buttons
- Once the cHECk-RAS program is downloaded, the cHECk-RAS program will assume the HEC-RAS 4.1.0 program (.exe) file is installed at the following default location: C:\Program Files (x86)\HEC\HEC-RAS\4.1.0
- NOTE: If you receive a message stating "Cannot create user's data folder" please do the following: Manually create the user's folder as: C:\abc\AppData\Roaming\FEMA\cHECk-RAS where abc is the user name login to the PC.
If the HEC-RAS 4.1.0 Program (.exe) file is located at another location on your computer besides the default location (C:\Program Files (x86)\HEC\HEC-RAS\4.1.0), you will need to specify it by taking the following steps:
- Once you have opened up the cHECk-RAS Version 2.0.1 program, select the 'Help' dropdown list in the lower right corner of the main interface.
- Select 'Setup HEC-RAS Program' from the options that appear.
- Specify the location of the folder in the 'HEC-RAS Setup' window that appears by manually typing it in. Notice that the location of the HEC-RAS program will automatically display here if it is already in the default location.
- Select 'Browse' to specify the location of the HEC-RAS program on your computer.
